They Both Like a Tight Seal

Lisa managed to put the bows and ribbons on her festive Christmas Packages which she's illuminated with battery operated LED lights.   The end results are three stunning packages that come in either small, medium or large sizes.  Good things come in small packages but that large green on certainly has my eye.

Linda L finished her three Christmas Lanterns with one of them being larger than the other two (but not by much).  Since all four sides feature different Christmas scenes I've pictured both the front and back of the lanterns.  (Since the two smaller Lanterns are identical so I've pictured only one of them.)  If you look closely you can see that the larger lantern has a Mickey Mouse in a Santa cap on it which the other two lanterns lack.  Surprise, surprise...that one is Linda's.

Let finished her pair of  Christmas Candles which I haven't seen made in a long, long time.  Since they look this good perhaps we'll see more of them in the weeks to come before Christmas.

Betty has 6 more Grinch hands under her belt and is officially ready to begin something new!  Her tap-tap method and her solder joints were looking top notch to me when I checked checked all of her pieces over to see if I could touch anything up- but I didn't have to.

Judy finished soldering  her Amish Girl Window with no time to spare so she didn't get it washed or colored.  That's a simple 15 minute process so she'll certainly finish this and be working on something else when we next see her.

Kerry ground his Christmas Poinsettia and then cut the openings for three round yellow globs to fit in the center.   When you use globs you DON'T cut the glass that surrounds them since globs are all different sizes and shapes.  Instead, you pretend that they don't exist in the window at all and then after everything is ground and fitting together perfectly you trace around the globs you are going to use thus ensuring a perfect fit with a minimum amount of lead surrounding them.    I have to say that Kerry has done some really incredible work on this window.

Martha worked on the final border of her Grinch Window but took it out to her car so that she could solder it at home before I managed to get a picture of it.  When she came back in she began working on this Heart/Angel Wing Suncatcher.  This week she cut out the heart and next week she'll begin cutting out the white iridized wings and hopefully get a lot of this ground.

Susan R has her Cross/Heart all ground and wrapped in foil.  She'll almost certainly finish  soldering this in her next glass.  Those cute yellow 'chicklet squares' that she used in the center of the rose are becoming a signature component in her work!

Mary Grace began soldering the front side of her Peacock Window but not before we first cleaned it off good since she's been out a while due to some health issues.  It all cleaned up nicely so the soldering will go smoothly now unlike what would have happened if she decided to solder on top of all the dirt and grime that got caught in the flux over the past month or so.

Ann cut and ground away at her latest Mary and Child piece which she will be transforming into a window by adding two pieces of background glass and a border.   Ann has got this looking great already and her work is spot on.

Barbara said she's really not into working on this Hibiscus Window at this point in time so I told her to take a break from it and work on something else for a while.  Sometimes you just need to take a break from something to get into the proper frame of mind for everything to go smoothly.  But Barbara persisted and she'll almost got this Hibiscus Window ground now.  All in all it's great work!

Melissa's got her Bird House walls all figured out now and was able to complete her two side panels in just one class.   This is going to be joined together when she comes back in and then she'll begin work on her roof.

June's got the red border cut for her Sewing Machine Window and she even managed to get it wrapped before calling it a night.  It looks like she'll be soldering this upon her return and hopefully that will be more relaxing for her than the foiling was.

MiMi has the front side of her repair all soldered and you have to admit that it really does look great!  Of course, her flawless solder bead really helps hide the flaws that were so readily apparent before solder was added into the equation.  It turns out that solder can cover a multitude of sins...

Cindy has traveled a good distance grinding across her Birds on a Wire hanging leaving only one bird left to complete before she can begin wrapping her last three birds in copper foil.   The end is near.

Sheri's Geometric Piece is just about ready to hang in a window now that her final border has been attached and her front side has been soldered.   There is no doubt at all that this will be a completed project in our next post and I must say that Sheri's soldering is superb!

Susan D is making the tiniest Grinch hand I've ever seen because she wants it hang freely in a Christmas tree.   She'll be cutting the ornament out of glass rather than using an actual Christmas ornament since she can't get one this small.   There's also another Dragonfly Spoon nearing completion on her board as well as a Christmas ornament (complete with holly).

Last but certainly not least, Linda F is beginning work on a Magnolia Window and has her pattern traced out as will as the pattern pieces traced onto the glass she'll be using.   These are fairly large pieces and I believe Linda will move through this project VERY quickly.

And there you have it.  I promise that we'll have a Hints and Tips  post within a day or too so keep an eye out for that!
