Denial and Error

Kandise completed her Address Window and I have to say that it's one of the more unique Address Windows that has ever been made here.   The flowers are a major focal point of this design but the numbers 3027 are not lost in the bouquet at all.   This window will surely guarantee that all of her packages and mail arrive at the correct location.

Cindy has finished off the first of her pair of Circular Flower Windows and this one is vibrantly striking. they'll be another soon to follow.

Linda L's Green Beveled Christmas Tree has students in other classes asking how she got the bevels green. The trick involves food coloring, clear Elmer's Glue, a dash of Borax, a camel hair toothbrush and ten to twelve feet of rubber tubing.  And just look how Christmassy this looks. Even Linda says that she likes it so much better now that it's been completed and is hanging up with light behind it. Now let's see how many questions about this I get next week. :-)

Zoe put the finishing touches on her Mother Mary and Son Suncatcher by soldering both the front and back side.   Once that was finished she followed up her soldering with some tap-tapping, washed the suncatcher, colored it and took it on home.  This will surely be hung with pride and devotion.

Linda F has completed the last of her Christmas Ornaments which means that for at least a few weeks Christmas will be off of her mind.

Judy completed another pair of Crosses which means that she only has nine more left to go.   Or was it seven?  Or five?  Oh well, there's certainly more to come in many assorted colors!

Susan R was busy tracing out a pattern for her latest Gnome Ornament and once she had the paper pattern pieces cut out she then traced those on glass, traced around them with her Sharpie Marker and then took her cutter out and cut the pieces that you see in the picture below.

Betty has a Christmas Frog ready to be soldered.   We haven't seen this made in what feels like ages and I'll say that it's nice to see it come back into fashion.

Linda F put her completed Christmas Ornament away and then went to work on two Flower Pot Ornaments. These will go on small stakes and then be 'planted' in a flower pot along with flowers to give it all a little pizazz.

Let has two projects under way this week. Her Luna Moth is all cut out and only needs a little bit more foiling before Let solders it. Let is a 'foil at home' kinda gal and that's why she also worked o this beautiful Teardrop Lotus Suncatcher while she was in the shop as well.

Paula's GTO is getting its grill and license plate fired in the kiln and next week she will cut and add the enamel decorated pieces to the car itself. Meanwhile she's drawn out a two colored background which she hopes to cut while she is at home. This window is certainly coming together now.

Annette is so amazingly close to finishing the center section of her LSU Tiger Window. The only thing left to fill in is the mouth and that will easily be done next week when she also begins the double border that will surround this.

Susan D came in with all of the background glass ground and foiled for her large Humming Bird Window.  Once that was tacked into place she cut out the thin, green inner border which she ground, foiled and then tacked into position before cutting the final clear glue chip border.  She's again taken everything home with her so she can work on it through the week before class begins again.  She's been making GREAT strides at completing this at home on her own and I know for a fact that the final border has already been attached and the front side has been soldered.

Keri has all of her glass not only cut and ground but foiled and tacked together as well! This Praying Mantis is spreading his/her (I'm unsure) wings for a little bit of solder. It's looking great already and the best part of this is sure to come.

Now that Ann has all of her background cut and ground she's moved on over to the white dove (Holy Spirit) that will rest an inch above the center of the background which will give the window a true 3D effect. It looks as though Ann will be foiling glass when she comes back in.

MiMi is diligently working on grinding the lamp pieces for her second section of her lamp. She's only got a few egg cartons left to go (regular readers will understand this reference) before she wraps and tacks these together and then gears up for the third and final section.

Martha's Beach Scene got it's border cut and she's soldered the front side of her window. Since she was able to solder the entire front of this after cutting, grinding, foiling and attaching the border I'd say that it's a safe bet to say that she'll be walking out the door with this on her next visit to the shop.

Melissa has all of her background glass cut and ground and she's taken it home to foil and then tack together.   She'll be adding a border on this when she returns because she's texted everyone in her class a picture of the window all tacked together and held up with some light behind it.  I don't want to show that picture here because it would ruin the BIG reveal when this is officially completed but let me just say this about it,"I am officially jealous!!"

Cindy is well underway on her second Circular Flower Window and this one has a more pastel colored flower in it.

Bee has her Peacock tacked together and is ready to cut a background for it. She likes the idea of an inner border made up of bevels so she'll be foiling those bevels when she comes back in. Only when that's done will she cut out the background glass. This is the best, and in my opinion, the only way to get the bevels to line up with the background perfectly.

Last but not least we take a look at the Multi-colored Cat that June is working on. She's choosing her colors carefully and weighing those colors so that everything balances beautifully. She's got an eye for it, that's for sure!
