But That's Not Quite The Same!

Cindy 's self drawn Alligator Window is completed and is looking might ferocious.  Everything looks great, even the added leaves to help break up  the background pieces.  When you draw your own patterns it's a true piece of art, entirely credited to yourself!

Jeannette's Initial Rose Window is beautiful and equal parts rose and 'R'.   Neither overshadows the other and Jeannette's choice of yellow glass for the rose offsets it perfectly from the pink rose.  I must say that the colors are balanced perfectly.

June completed her sailboat window and ended up with a window that she'll be gifting away to a special person in her life.   This is another case of a student taking their time and ending up with a wonderfully soldered window.

Angie's LSU/Tiger Eyes Window looks amazing.  Truth be told I always liked this window best when it's done in actual tiger colors rather than in just purple and golds.  Angie's version only makes me think that this this is the best way to approach this pattern even more so than before.

Linda L got all four pieces of her Nativity Animals assembled complete with clear glass stands which hold them upright on a table.   We came up with a new way to secure these and it's going to be the way I do anything with a stand from here on out.  Leave it to Linda to be responsible for a new good thing!

Barbara's discovered that doing a show is a lot of work even if you  make only smaller items.   This week she completed numerous Christmas Bulb Suncatchers and a Flowerpot Bee Decoration which is the same pattern as the Lawn Ornament Bee only half the size.

Lisa's Pumpkin and Black Cat Suncatcher is adorable.   Check out the curves on that cats body!

Cheryl has two more crosses ready that she'll soon be selling. One is a standard design and another features a draped cloth over it.  She's been doing a lot at home and and she's getting better and better at each step by doing so.

Betty finished her clear textured Ornamental Cross which turned out to be predictably beautiful!

Let got two more Beveled Geometric Crosses finished this week and I really have to give her credit for the razor sharp straight lines that she's created in these.

Cindy has graciously pulled out an unfinished project from the past by resurrecting Myrt's old unfinished Address Window!   A lot of the work has already been completed by Myrt but this week Cindy wrapped everything and next week she'll get some background glass cut for this.

Cheryl has begun making an LSU Window featuring an iconic clock tower.  She has her yellow glass all cut out and will next cut in the details of the tower.

Barbara H also has a round Iris suncatcher and a large Dragonfly under construction.  She's literally working her fingers sore (and bloody) as she grind and grinds and grinds in all of her spare time!

Jan began cutting out glass for her Pelican Window after she got the paper pattern pieces labeled and cut out for tracing.   She back on track and thrilled to be back.

Ann got a lot accomplished this week by beginning and almost finishing her first Winged Heart Lawn Ornament.  She's going to cut out a red heart for this when she comes back in and then she'll put it all together and then solder it to a piece of zinc channel.

Lara's well along on her Louisiana Attractions Collage Window.  She's at a point where she whats to grind what she has so she can pick other colors based on their surrounding glass.   The bridge is a bit perplexing at this point but I know that when this is finished its going to be spectacular.

This may sound strange but Susan R  got her pupils fired and then attached them to the rest of her eyeballs.   These Flowerpot Ornaments will be completed when she returns, after which she will then add stakes to them so they can be poked into some plants (as eyeballs should be??)

Linda's Black Pumpkin has taken full form now.  She's gone ahead and added black pupils to it and the end result looks GREAT.   There's no doubt that she'll be soldering this upon her return next week.

Mary Grace has her Logo Window all tacked together and her missing pieces all filled in.   She next added the left and right background pieces to the word ' Wellness' and attached it to the bottom of the logo portion.  That just leaves her with the 'Houma' and 'Health' words to be sized out and added to the top before she puts a border on this and begins soldering.

Angie not only finished her LSU window but also put in some serious work on her own Black Pumpkin. She's well on her way to finishing it since she's got this cut, ground and wrapped in foil already.

MiMi's Polaroid Camera already can't be mistaken for anything other than a polaroid camera. There's not much grinding left for her go through before she adds the tour de force piece of glass that will make up the picture coming out of the camera.  Just wait until you see that!

After Lisa finished her Pumpkin and Black Cat Suncatcher (you can see it in this picture as well as in it's solo picture in the beginning of this post) she then moved along to making another pair of Spider Web Corner Decorations.    She doesn't sit idle for long, that's for sure!

Shelley finished grinding her large  Peacock Suncatcher and is ready to begin wrapping it.  She's taken it home to hopefully get some of the foiling done before she returns to class with this.

Judy's Vegetable Window got its front side soldered and since this is a picture of the back side you'll just have to take my word about how wonderful her soldering was on the first side.   I do believe that this will be completed when we next see it.

Linda L has 2 Candy Corn Panels and an Elephant suncatcher very nearly finished. With a little luck we'll see them in their completed state in our next blog post.

Steve just keeps adding more and more baubles and such to his Lawn Ornament 'window' and with each addition, the sturdier this becomes.

Martha is about to flip this Fleur De Lis Window to solder the second side already.  Featuring bevels and assorted textures this window is going to really sparkle when sunlight hits it.

Jeannette not only finished her initial window but worked on a pair of Grinch hands as well.  She's not going to let Christmas come sneaking up on her!

Next we look at another Grinch hand, this one by Betty.  She can't make these fast enough to keep keep up with demand!

And Let has another Beveled Geometric Cross in the works and after that I believe that she might have said that she wanted to make something different for herself.

June's newest project will be a Razorback Window.  Here's the pattern-- glass cutting will begin next week.

And in the end there's Sheri who worked on her Business Card Window but who also managed to get it into her truck and onto the highway before I realized that I hadn't snapped a picture of it.

Hakuna Matata!
